Tilly's Closet

LOGO DESIGN BRANDING

A Rebrand for a small local business located in Newberg, Oregon. Tilly's Closet is a boutique, eco-conscious consignment store for children and families. These are the brand deliverables I submitted to the client.

  • Create logo options, presentations, and brand guidelines for the client.

  • Design a logo and brand that appealed to a child’s eye while creating trust with parents.

  • Design a memorable logo mark that evoked a feeling of comfort and safety for current and future customers to grow the client’s business.

Logo Mascot Ideation

It was clear early on from the discussion during the client’s initial meeting and accompanying research that the team wanted to create a mascot who appealed to both child and parent. The client was generous enough to share a personal story about their daughter. This story helped grab our team’s imagination about how we would develop and create the brand.

Inspiration

In the early stages of sketching and researching ideas-I knew that I wanted the brand to connect with a child by creating a simple drawing, but have it designed professionally for the older audience. Because of this, I took from A. A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh. The illustration in the book was simple yet created imagination. I found my direction.

Brand Color Scheme

The choice of colors was strategized to appeal to the company’s chosen demographic of mothers aged 25-45 years old. Because of this age range, the team of designers and I felt it best to choose light tones of color. This way, the brand reflects the store’s friendly and trusting nature to the audience subconsciously.
